A weekend in FGH: Cha Cha Slide, ATV rides and Mackenzie Mountains

We spent the morning in Yellowknife, walking to the Pilot’s Monument for a beautiful view of the city and buying groceries. Our flight to Fort Good Hope was on a very small plane that lifted into the clouds above snow and trees as far as the eyes could see. Since our arrival in Webequie and we’ve had so many wonderful experiences!! Upon our arrival on Monday afternoon, we walked over to the school -SJMUC- where we received a warm welcome from the students and the staff. These lessons were open and honest and filled with giggles and questions, and we were both super happy with how […]

Week TWO!!!

And just like that we’re back again after another busy week! Time truly is FLYING. In the younger classrooms this past week we continued to focus on healthy eating and also introduced body parts and the concept of consent. The kids loved seeing Jamie trace and draw out a life-size Sarah on construction paper, especially when her hands were out of proportion to her head! With the older classes (grade 6,7,8s) we discussed substances and substance abuse, as well as […]
