The kids enjoyed having the afternoon to hang out with us while watching “Inside Out”, eating popcorn and learning about mental health. The film struck up some important conversations between us and the students, especially among the younger children. We got into the school on Monday feeling eager to begin the busy week ahead of us! This […]

Our lessons focused on alcohol and drugs, healthy relationships, consent, and personal hygiene. The kids knock on our door almost every day now, so we have been playing tons […]

It has been a beautiful week here in Prov with a high of 26 degrees today!  This week in our older classes we focused on healthy relationships and consent. We were pleasantly surprised by how many questions we had in our question box, and we were fortunate to spend a few lessons on these important subjects. With our younger classes, we focused on personal boundaries, healthy friendships, and healthy […]

Half Way!?

We just finished our second full week of teaching! This week, we taught topics such as tobacco use, alcohol, marijuana, and addictions. These lessons were often topped off with a fun jeopardy game. On Wednesday, we were also fortunate to volunteer at the library’s youth group. Here, we played musical instruments, drew picturesque #views of the mountains, played board games and shared lots of laughs! This was great as we were able to connect with some of the high school […]
