Welcome to Fort Providence!!!

Hello family, friends and interested readers – we welcome you to join us at the beginning of our adventure. Our journey began Saturday at 4:30am- it was quite the early morning at Pearson International Airport. After saying goodbye to our families, we went to go check our “slightly” heavy bags. The suitcase that was filled with our fun teaching supplies barely made it on at a whopping 49.6lbs (please note: the limit was 50lbs).  After landing in Yellowknife, we headed […]

From Fort Simpson

Hello curious readers, After dropping our exciting surprise news at the end of our last blog post, we figure we should follow up and let you in on what we’ve been up to in Fort Simpson! #WEMADEIT

Hey everyone! We made it and are settling in quite nicely in Fort Providence. This past week has been busy and very productive, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to! Establishing QHO for the first time in a community is something that requires several steps and phases to complete. We are currently in the process of developing the needs-based and culturally sensitive QHO health program for this community. This involves community profiling and gaining as much knowledge […]

We Went West, Now Headed North

Hey everyone! We’ve officially taken off!  We left Toronto Pearson Airport in the wee hours of the morning today and are currently in Edmonton, about to begin our final lag of the trip to Yellowknife (…to be followed by a 4 hour drive to Fort Providence).  Although we’re only 7 hours into our journey, we’ve already learned a few things… Edmonton is not in Manitoba… or Calgary. Dry soup weighs a surprising amount. When you travel back in time you can have two […]
