As busy as a bee in Week THREE

HALFWAY?!? It feels like just yesterday we arrived in Fort Providence! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun, and this week was a fun one! As we wrapped up Mental Health Awareness Week, we finished up with some Emotion Bingo with the younger grades and making Wellness Books with our older classes. So much to do! So much to see!

Phew! Just got back from an exhausting first night volunteering at the Friendship Centre, the local community centre. For the rest of our time in Fort Providence we have offered to volunteer weekly at the Friendship Centre, and we are looking forward to hanging out with the students outside the classroom! Warm welcomes

Can’t believe it’s almost been a week in Fort Providence!! After our lovely overnight stay and a day of sight-seeing on our own in Yellowknife, we did our big grocery run before getting picked up by Lois, the Principal of Deh Gah Elementary and Secondary School. Lois is recognized and respected member of the community with lots of information to share about Fort Providence and the surrounding communities during our 3 hour drive. When we arrived at our new home, we were surprised with a generous box of groceries from the […]

We Made it to Yellowknife!!

Hey family, friends, and other lovely humans of the internet following our adventure to Fort Providence, Northwest Territories! Our day began (not-so) bright and early this morning, at 4:30 AM. With lots of coffee, goodbyes and traveling, we arrived at Pearson International Airport just in time for our 7:00 AM flight to the Calgary Airport! Breaking the Ice
