Made it to Fort Providence!

Final Week in Fort Providence 🙁

Hello All! Our final week in the classroom has been another busy one, and we enjoyed every second of it! With the students in kindergarten-grade 3 we continued to cover topics such as personal space, and kindness this week.This involved some fun arts and crafts, and exciting games such as an emotions version of Simon Says. Weeeeeeeeek 4

Hello dedicated blog followers, This week we continued to teach about identifying and dealing with our emotions in the younger grades. This involved some fun games such as Simon Says (emotions version) and Charades. We also started our sexual health unit with the older grades, teaching about healthy relationships, consent, and puberty. Week 3 Complete!

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO, It has been another whirlwind week here in Fort Providence, both inside and outside of the classroom! This week with the older students we focused on stress management and substance abuse. The students really loved doing our ‘circle of control’ activity to learn about how we can all manage the stress in our own lives. Hi again! It’s been another busy and INCREDIBLE week here in Fort Providence! In the classroom this past week, we focused on teaching bullying, stress management, and introductions to substance abuse/addiction. Week 1 in Fort Providence

Hello, from Fort Providence, We’ve just finished our first full week in the classroom at Deh Gah elementary and secondary school, and it was quite the busy week. We’ve been getting settled into the community and getting into the classrooms while participating in community events and afterschool programming. Welcome to Yellowknife!

Howdy, everyone! After leaving Toronto bright and early this morning, and with a quick stop in Edmonton, we have successfully arrived in Yellowknife! Week 6: 4846 km and 42 days later

This is it! After six wild and thrilling weeks, we have completed our initiative in Fort Providence, Northwest Territories! In our final week, we had the pleasure of teaching in every classroom at Deh Gah School, which meant we often taught five to seven classes a day, keeping us very busy.
